It’s safe to say gaming-centric smartphones have yet to break into the mainstream several years after Razer essentially rehashed an idea as old as time, putting a modern spin on it. But while it remains unclear if we’ll ever get a third-gen Razer Phone, Asus is certainly not ready to throw in the towel just yet, preparing another absolute mobile powerhouse with an almost ridiculous spec sheet and a… decidedly unconventional design.
The 5G-enabled Asus ROG Phone 3 (or ROG Phone III) is undoubtedly inching closer and closer to an official announcement, recently paying China’s FCC-equivalent regulatory agency a very revealing visit and revealing even more today in a leaked hands-on video and promotional image.
If you needed additional proof this device is unapologetically massive, you can now see with your own eyes how difficult it is to hold the beast in one hand, let alone actually use it. Its somewhat old-fashioned design will include symmetrical bezels at the top and bottom of a 6.6-inch or so AMOLED display with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate (at the very least).
