Samsung has a cool surprise in store for the upcoming Galaxy S21 launch event

Given that Samsung is widely rumored to be holding its first special Unpacked event of next year in January instead of February, you may have been wondering what that means for other products besides the high-end Galaxy S21 handset family.

Well, as it turns out, the tech giant is planning to unveil at least one additional big thing in a couple of months, according to SamMobile’s almost always reliable inside sources. No, we’re not talking about a foldable Galaxy Z Fold Lite, Z Fold 3, or Z Flip 3 smartphone, but rather the company’s fourth-ever true wireless earbuds effort.

Obviously, these undoubtedly teeny-tiny headphones are unlikely to carry the Galaxy Buds 4 (or even Buds 3) moniker, arriving on the heels of the Galaxy Buds Live and Buds Plus released earlier this year.
Unfortunately, the actual name is not etched in stone yet, although we’ve been hearing quite a lot of whispers lately about something called Galaxy Buds Beyond. Whether or not that cool-sounding marketing label will materialize as early as January 2021, SamMobile’s insiders are expecting the “usual upgrades to improve sound quality” to come to pass alongside the integration of state-of-the-art Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) technology.
While the ANC feature made its true wireless Samsung debut on the Galaxy Buds Live, these overall mysterious impending earbuds are tipped to adopt a conventional in-ear design rather than the highly unusual shape of the company’s first diminutive noise-cancelling headphones.
In other words, the Galaxy Buds Beyond could look a lot like the first-gen Galaxy Buds and the Buds+ while borrowing the greatest feature of the Buds Live and improving the overall audio quality. Ambient Mode refinements are reportedly in the pipeline as well, and based on a previous rumor, the battery life powered by the next-gen wireless charging case will remain largely unchanged from the excellent numbers of the Galaxy Buds Live.
The price point is up in the air for the time being, but something tells us Samsung will be unable to go below $170. Let’s just hope the company won’t go up to around $200 either.
