Leaked Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G press renders show off camera bump and more

The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra is not expected to make its official debut until early August but today, with over one month left to go, Samsung Russia has accidentally published (via Max Weinbach) what seems to be two official press renders of the 5G flagship.

Samsung is fully embracing the massive camera module

Corroborating earlier CAD-based renders courtesy of Steve Hemmerstoffer and several earlier reports, the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra press renders in question showcase a massive camera bump in the top-left corner that is home to several sensors.

Leading the way is reportedly a 108-megapixel camera that has likely been borrowed from the Galaxy S20 Ultra. To focus on output quality and usefulness, though, the South Korean company is this time planning to limit digital zoom to 50X rather than 100X Space Zoom.

That should be accompanied by a new 13-megapixel periscope zoom shooter rather than the 48-megapixel implementation that was used earlier this year. Presumably, 5X optical zoom will be supported, but the exact specifications have yet to leak.

Completing the left side of the camera module is reportedly a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle shooter that, like the main camera, has probably been borrowed from the Galaxy S20 series.

Sitting alongside the aforementioned cameras is an LED flash positioned in the top-right corner of the module and what seems to be a laser autofocus system. Samsung faced several autofocus issues with the 108-megapixel sensor earlier this year and is hoping to avoid them with the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra.

Mystic Copper is the name of Samsung’s new color

The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra is expected to arrive in two colors – black and copper. This particular set of press renders showcases the latter, which will reportedly be marketed as Mystic Copper when it hit shelves later this year.
Like recent Apple and Google flagships, Samsung appears to have opted for a matte finish on the smartphone. That means the device should feel nicer in the hand and be less prone to fingerprints.
The package is combined with a stainless steel frame in the same color which is home to a volume rocker and power key on the right side. There is also a matching S Pen stylus, as previously expected.

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra specs, announcement, release date

In addition to everything mentioned above, the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra is expected to offering the Snapdragon 865 chipset in North America, China, and South Korea, and the unreleased Exynos 992 in Europe and other international markets.
There is also expected to be 12GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage as standard. Samsung will likely debut One UI 2.5 which will be based on Android 10, although an update to Android 11 and One UI 3.0 is expected by the end of the year.
The Galaxy Note 20 Ultra should be made official at an Unpacked event on Wednesday, August 5, alongside the standard Galaxy Note 20. Pre-orders for both phones are expected to kick off shortly after ahead of a release towards the end of August or early September.
The highly anticipated Galaxy Fold 2 is also expected to make an appearance at the event, as is the Galaxy Z Flip 5G. These devices are unlikely to begin shipping until later on in the year, however.
