First TCL 20 5G specs and images leak ahead of early 2021 announcement

TCL is preparing to launch another 5G smartphone at the start of next year and we have the first details for it. The new handset will simply be named TCL 20 5G, Evan Blass shared. It will be a midranger with a Snapdragon 690 chipset, three cameras and a big screen.

The front panel will have a 6.67” diagonal with a Full HD+ resolution. There will be a hole in the center for an 8MP selfie camera, but the panel is likely to be LCD. It is a safe guess, given the fact the power key is said to double as a fingerprint scanner, positioned on the right side, right under the volume keys. Interestingly enough, on the left side there’s also a key for easy access to Google Assistant.

The main camera is now oriented vertically, instead of going for the unusual horizontal solution of the TCL 10 series. The main cam will be 48MP, accompanied by an 8MP ultrawide shooter and a 2MP macro cam. On the inside, we have 6GB RAM, either 128GB or 256GB storage, and a 4,500 mAh battery.

The phone is expected to arrive next year. TCL probably planned to introduce it at CES 2021, but the conference is cancelled due to the COVID-19 situation in the United States, meaning we are likely going to see an online launch of the TCL 20 5G in the early months of 2021.
